Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 September 2026
This policy explains what Timberwane collects, why, and what you can control. It matches, category by category, the App Privacy information shown on this app's App Store product page.
1. Summary
Timberwane is a local, pass-and-play tower game. The game itself needs no account and keeps your names, settings and records on your device.
However, the app does show adverts, and the advertising and attribution software it includes collects data — including data used to track you across other companies' apps and websites. The sections below list exactly what.
2. Data collected and used to track you
"Tracking" means linking this data with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising or advertising measurement, or sharing it with data brokers. The following categories are collected and may be used to track you:
- Advertising Data — information such as which adverts were shown, viewed or tapped. Used for: Analytics, App Functionality, Developer's Advertising or Marketing, Third-Party Advertising. Linked to your identity.
- Coarse Location — an approximate region derived from your IP address, used to choose which adverts may be shown; this is not precise location and the app never requests GPS access. Used for: Analytics, App Functionality, Developer's Advertising or Marketing, Third-Party Advertising. Linked to your identity.
- Device ID — the iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and comparable device identifiers. Used for: Analytics, App Functionality, Developer's Advertising or Marketing, Third-Party Advertising. Linked to your identity.
- Other Data — other identifiers and technical values the advertising SDKs attach to an ad request. Used for: Analytics, App Functionality, Developer's Advertising or Marketing, Third-Party Advertising. Linked to your identity.
- Performance Data — load times, failure rates and similar measurements of how the app and its adverts perform. Used for: Analytics, App Functionality, Developer's Advertising or Marketing, Third-Party Advertising. Linked to your identity.
- Product Interaction — in-app events such as launching the app, starting a round and finishing a round. Used for: Analytics, App Functionality, Developer's Advertising or Marketing, Third-Party Advertising. Linked to your identity.
- User ID — a pseudonymous identifier generated by our attribution provider to recognise this installation. Used for: Analytics, App Functionality, Third-Party Advertising. Linked to your identity.
On iOS this only happens if you allow it — see section 5.
3. Data collected but not used to track you
- Crash Data — crash logs and diagnostic traces. Used for: Analytics, App Functionality, Third-Party Advertising. Linked to your identity.
- Customer Support — anything you choose to write to us by email. Used for: App Functionality. Not linked to your identity.
- Other Diagnostic Data — other technical diagnostic values reported by the SDKs. Used for: Analytics, App Functionality, Developer's Advertising or Marketing, Third-Party Advertising. Not linked to your identity.
- Other Usage Data — other aggregate usage measurements. Used for: Analytics, Third-Party Advertising. Not linked to your identity.
4. Third-party services we include
We do not run our own servers. The collection described above is performed by these third-party SDKs bundled in the app:
- Adjust — install attribution and in-app event measurement. Adjust privacy policy.
- AppLovin MAX — advertising mediation. MAX selects an advertising network for each ad request and passes the request, together with the identifiers above, to that network. AppLovin privacy policy.
The advertising networks that MAX may mediate to in this app are: Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, InMobi, Moloco, Chartboost, BigoAds, Pangle (ByteDance), Unity Ads, Mintegral, ironSource, Fyber and BidMachine. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.
5. App Tracking Transparency — your choice
The first time you open Timberwane, iOS shows a prompt asking whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- If you allow it — the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be shared with the services in section 4, and the adverts you see can be personalised and measured across apps.
- If you ask the app not to track — the advertising identifier is not shared for tracking. The game remains fully playable, with every feature available. You will still see adverts, but they will be less relevant to you.
You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.
6. Data that stays on your device
Your player names, chosen player count, difficulty and wood settings, cumulative statistics and your list of past matches are written to a single file in the app's own storage on your device.
This information is not in any of the categories above. It is never uploaded, never sent to us, and is not readable by us or by any third party. It is removed when you delete the app.
7. Your choices and how to delete data
- Erase everything stored on your device — open Records from the home screen, choose Reset all data, then confirm with Erase. This clears all names, settings and records immediately.
- Stop tracking — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, as described in section 5.
- Limit ad personalisation system-wide — Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Delete the app — removes the on-device file entirely.
- Ask us — write to the address in section 10 and we will pass any request on to the providers in section 4.
8. Children
Timberwane is a general-audience game and is not directed to children. It shows advertising and includes the third-party software described above. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will act on it.
9. Security and retention
Data sent to the providers in section 4 travels over encrypted connections and is retained under each provider's own policy. Data kept on your device is protected by the standard protections iOS applies to app storage.
10. Changes and contact
If the software included in the app changes, we will update this page and the App Store privacy information together. The date at the top shows when this page last changed.
